Nevermind the conflict between LL Cool J and Kool Moe Dee, if you have ever seen a Kubiak/The Moths show, then you have witnessed these two “arch rival” band leaders please the crowd with their planned amateur wrestling in-between sets. The hidden track on this release named “Kubiak” is the diss-track retort to Kubiak‘s original diss-track entitled “Tony Rogan” which started the faux-fued.

Bound to One – Chosen Wisdoms demo

After a brief hiatus, Bound to One reformed, with one less guitarist and a new drummer. This demo was recorded at Walls Have ears in March of 1997. It was recorded and mixed in three days by Brian Egeness (Die Kruezen).

In December of 2009, Beer City Records put out a discography of their releases. You can pick it up on iTunes or Amazon. Check out the band’s official myspace page.

The discography contains two more recording sessions with the same lineup recorded with Brian, this time at The Junkyard. The rest of the material is home studio recordings of later material, with new members.

We have also put together a selection of outtakes and “lost” material that didn’t make it onto the discography. You can check that out here.

Bound to One – Rehearsal Demo 1994

This rehearsal tape was recently unearthed by a band member and digitized. It is the demo before the demo. Fun fact: These songs were recorded in Jesse Smith’s basement.

It contains two tracks (Common Thread and Standard) that were omitted from the Chosen Wisdoms recording sessions and an instrumental version of another tune. This also the only known recording of the original lineup of the band – featuring Nicholas Straube on second guitar and Tom Stearns playing drums.

Within the next year, the band would go on hiatus, and eventually reform with a new lineup to record the first legitimate recording… the Chosen Wisdoms cassette demo.

“It’s heavy, demonic and loud. I laughed for 20 minutes upon seeing the album cover for “Back To The Masses,” and came to the conclusion that if I ever go to Racine, I will go to the bar where these guys play every weekend. The band consists of Dick Tater on vocals, Nick Tater on bass, Dick Stanley on guitar, and Prof. Rotater on drums. They take a whack at everything from David Lee Roth to Catholicism to “Social Democrats” and obviously can make light of a situation with really fast punk/metal & dual vocals.”
